It's Ready! Our First Stack Class for this year!

I honestly cannot tell you which one I like the best in this collection.  We will make four each of the three cards.  Let's start with the "Thanks So Much" card.  It is a pink and brown combination -- I like many color combinations, but this one is a favorite.  The background stamp is "Stitched" which is on the discontinued list.  You have until Jan. 17 to add this to your collection.  It is really beautiful.  Stamp sets are the "Rose is a Rose" and "Barouque Motifs". If you owe thank you cards to friends and family this is a good one.

Next is the AWESOME birthday card for guys.  It uses the Bronc Buster Stamp Set (also on the discontinued list) stamped on GASKET MATERIAL!!!  Can you believe that?  And the gasket material is die cut with the Big Shot Top Note Die.  This is an awsome card.  The finishing touch is the hardware holding the larriot. 

Last, but not least, is a birthday card using the "Voila" stamp set.  The chef is so cute I have been wanting to use him on a birthday card for a long time.  You can't tell from the picture, but the candle is embellished with Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Crystal Effects.  The size of this card is a little different for some variety.  It is 5 1/4" square and fits our 5 1/2" square envelopes.

A new feature we are offering this year is to include a message or verse on the inside of most of our cards.  We have included that with all the cards in this class as a special treat.  This way you get more bang for your buck!

Materials to bring to class: your usual packet of cutting tools and adhesives plus your watercolor pencils, blender pens and stamp-a-ma-jig.

DATES:  Friday, January 9 at 6:30pm or Saturday, January 10 at 1:30pm

Fee:  $25.00 (what a bargain!  only a tad over $2/card)  Pre-Register (space only-you can pay when you arrive) by Monday, Jan. 5, 2009.  This will be a great help to me due to the amount of paper to cut and prepare.

A Last Minute Holiday Party Favor

Believe it or not I had a quiet day today.  All my shopping is done, the gifts are wrapped and I started our annual holiday cookie marathon.  I also made these party favors for our Christmas Eve dinner party.  The beautiful china was a gift to my two daughters over a period of several years from my mother.  We all love it -- it is an ageless pattern and continues to be appreciated by all who attend.  The party favor is the pattern we used both last year and this year in our holiday classes.  I made this version to match our place settings. 

I put 20 of these together in an hour.  All you need is card stock to match your decor, the Scallop Circle Punch, the ! 1/4" Circle and the 1/2" Circle Punchs.  You can get 40 of these from  two 8 1/2" x 11" sheets of card stock (which is 20 favors - front and back).  Then an additional sheet of a contracting color for the second layer.  The 1/2" circle in the middle can be punched from the scraps.  Very inexpensive and quick to make.  Oh yes, don't forget the York Peppermint Patties.  I added a little bling and they were done.

GIFT CARD HOLDER

Gift Card Holders are so useful.  They are not just for the holiday season, but for birthdays etc.  The sample i am showing here is a very popular style.  It can easily be converted to a birthday version.

 

Supply List: 

Card Stock:  Kiwi Kiss (7 1/4" x 4 1/4") Scored at 2 1/2" and 1 3/4".  The middle section should measure 3" after you are finished scoring.  Ski Slope DSP (1@ 4" x 2 1/4", 1 @ 4" x 1 3/4" and 1 @ 4" x 1 1/2") Use any pattern you like.  Scraps of Whisper White and Riding Hood Red.

Stamps:  Christmas Tree (Punch Pals Set), Merry Christmas (Party Punch set)

Punches:  Medium Corner Rounder, Large Tag, Small Tag, 1/8" Circle - hand held, and label punch.

Stamp Pads:  Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red

Ribbon:  White 1/2" Grosgrain

Assembly:  You can follow the picture -- simply glue your DSP in place, use a narrow double sided tape to seal the pocket for the gift card after you punch the finger 1/2 circle.  I use our Sticky Strip for this type of project.  It is narrow and very aggressive, thus it holds well.  Make your tag, tie the ribbon and decorate the way you want it.  Use velcro for the closure.
