I am happy to report that our new circle cutter works really well. The first time I tested it I had trouble dialing the size I wanted. But i kept playing with it. The second time i tested it I discovered that a small piece of white paper under the dimension marks allowed me to see the marks and thus I mastered dialing the correct size. I was so happy!!!
You might ask "Why the new Cutter Bee Circle Scissor Plus was added to our product line". You might be thinking why do I need another circle cutter when I have my Coluzzle. For some projects, your Coluzzle may be the way to go -- but we'll show you why the Circle Scissor Plus is a must have for your stamping tool kit.
For starters, with the Circle Scissor Plus all you have to do is turn a handle in one fluid motion. You don't have to worry about awkward hand placement, templates shifting, the blade jumping track, or stopping halfway through to reposition. And then cutting all the chads.
In addition, the Circle Cutter Plus can cut circles of any size -- you are not constrained by increments. You decide the size!!! This also allows you to cut rings which are very popular.
My review is as follows:
1. It cuts easily and quick. You do have to tape down your card stock before cutting to keep it from moving. The blade is a "V" shape, so it cuts either direction. It cuts one sheet of paper at a time up to 6 inches.
2. The clear see through top allows accurate cutting. The dial works easily to select the size you need and allows you to cut rings. Cutting rings can be a little tricky, but it takes only a little practice to master. When cutting rings, cut the smaller circle, or the center of the ring, first, and then do not move the cutter! Make sure it stays in place while you dial (adjust) the size for the outside circle of your ring, and then cut again. Keeping the cutter in place the whole time is the key to getting radical rings.
3. It comes with one replacement blade, which stores in the top of the handle. For best results use a glass mat. This allows the blade to "float" across the cutting surface.
4. Includes a pen/pencil tool for drawing circles (works great with Stampin' Write Markers).
5. It is light weight for portability.
