Can you believe it is Halloween already!  Nothing special to report today, except to WISH you a fabulous day with your family.

HALLOWEEN (NON-CANDY) GIFT

I have heard that a lot of schools no longer allow candy and other treats at school.  So here is a quick Halloween Gift for you kids classes.  This sample is 2" wide and holds four crayons.  You can make this as wide or long as you need.  Anther suggestion would be a ruler and pencils. 

HALLOWEEN PARTY FAVOR

Look at how cute this is.  It is really small -- will only hold a little candy or nuts.  So it will be good for your kids Halloween Party.  I used Pumpkin Pie card stock and Old Olive for the leaves. 

 

1.  Cut cardstock to 2 1/4" x 5 3/4".  Score along bottom edge at 1".2.  Score the length at 1 3/4", 2 3/4", 4 1/2" and 5 1/2". 
3.  Cut on the score lines at a slight angle (to avoid overlap and a cleaner look).  Cut off the little piece at the end.  Shown on the right side next to the Paper Snips.4.  Punch 10 ovals using the Large Oval Punch.  Sponge the edges first with Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink, then a little highlight with Creamy Caramel Classis Ink.  

5.  Fold up your box and glue together.  Attach the handle with Old Olive Brads.  The handle is 1" x 6". I used a Paper Piercing Tool to make the hole for the brads.  The handle is 1" x 6".  The final step is to layer the ovals into two pumkins and adhere to the front and back of the box.  Use any embellishment you like.  The sample shows a leaf (no Stampin'Up! - I just did not have one small enough.)  Fill with a treat and the kids will love you!

GIFT REGISTRY (AKA HOLIDAY WISH LIST)

You have been asking for it - so here it is.  The annual holiday wish list is on the blog.  It seemed to be the most efficient way to make it available to everyone.  Scroll down aways -- it is on the left side bar.  Click on it and you are taken to a word document that you can print and fill out.  Mail or email your wish list with the name, phone number and email address of the person I should contact.  That's all you have to do to have some wonderful crafting surprises under the tree.  HAPPY HOLIDAY TO YOU! 

HALLOWEEN TREAT BOX

Don't you just love this treat box?  I don't know about you, but I love Halloween decorations.  I guess you could tell that by the banner I made this year.  (You can see that in a prior post.) 

To make this you need Three Pillow Box Die Cuts (Big Shot), Pumpkin Pie Card Stock, extra strips of Pumpkin Pie to form a bottom which are then covered with two 4" circles.  The face is made with the Photo Corner Punch (mouth), a hand cut triangle (nose) and a 1"  and 1/4" circle punches for the eyes.

TECHNIQUE CLUB PROJECT

This is the awesome "Mirror Image" technique we learned at the September Club meeting.  To create the "mirror" we used a blank rubber stamp which we purchased at an on-line store.  The image is inked and stamped onto the blank rubber stamp and then stamped onto your project.  The second step is to reink your image and line it up with the "mirror" image using our Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  That's it -- but just imagine the possibilties this technique has!

The first sample is the project we made at the club meeting.  We used the Dream Gardens stamp set, the Swirly Big Shot Die, Three for You Punch and Black and Apricot Appeal card stock.  Not shown here is the inside of the card which is as beautiful as the outside.  (Sorry, you have to be a Technique Club Member to see that!).  Just teasing - I forgot to take the picture.  I love this stamp set and plan to offer some projects early next year using this set. 

This second sample was made by Ann (Charter Club Member).  She used the Upsy Daisy Stamp set and sponging (Bordering Blue, Brocade Blue and Lovely Lilac) to create this beautiful card. 

If you look close you can see the short white lines (done with our White Gel Pen) on the bottom half of the card to emulated water.  What appears to be a mat around the image is actually a silver border done by hand with a silver marker (a non-su product found at a local craft store).  I am constantly amazed at how talented my friends are.  The Upsy Daisy stamp set is also a favorite of ours.  We do have fun!  Credit for this card and technique goes to one of my favorite artists, Michelle Zindorf.

 

HELP NEEDED

Hi Friends:  We had a great time at the Lakewood Fair on Saturday.  We met lots of new friends and over 100 moms and kids made the free Make-n-Take.  Problem is we over estimated the quantity and have approximately 300 left.  

Soooo, I am offering free Halloween Treat Bags to you, my friends.  Come over on Monday, Oct. 26th at 6:30pm and make as many as you can use == FREE.  I plan to donate the leftovers to a children's hospital.  Therefore, even if you do not need the treat bag for your own hand out, I could use help putting a bunch together.  Everything is furnished, all you need to do is stamp and assemble the project.
