I am sure you have seen this statement "March Madness" all over the news and internet. It really has been a mad month. Everyone I have talked to has been really busy this month. So, just a quick post today to show you a sample using the "Vintage Vogue" stamp sent found in the Occasions Mini catalog. This is one of several exchange cards I received at an Upline Meeting I recently attended.
This sample uses Whisper White and Rich Rasselberry card stock, the Scallop Border Punch, Rich Razzelberry, Crushed Curry and Garden Green Stampin' Ink Pads, Hemp Twine and the Well Scripted stamp set found in the Occasion Mini. I hope you enjoyed this. There will be more samples coming soon.
Here is the fourth (and last) sample of the monocromatic Easter Card series. Shown here is the beautiful pink version. This is a quick and very simple one to make. You like that, right? Well, guess what -- I do too!
Card Stock: Rose Red, 102544, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded in half, Regal Rose, 105130, 4" x 5 1/4", 2 1/2" x 3 14" and 1 1/2" x 1 1/2", Whisper White, 100730, 2 3/4" x 2", Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper, 3 3/4" x 5" and 2 1/4" x 3".
Other: Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon, 109067, 12", Regal Rose Stampin' Pad, Paper Snips, Dimentionals.
To begin, cut all of the card stock pieces and set them aside. Stamp Happy Easter on the Whisper White card stock with Regal Rose Ink.
Stamp "Happy Easter" on the Whisper Whiite card stock. Cut out the stamped image with Paper Snips. Yes, I cut this out by hand! We do not have a punch this shape. Leave a 1/4" margein to imitate a mat. Add two dimentionals to the back of the image and glue these three pieces together.
Next, glue the Regal Rose and Designer Paper together, add the Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon using the faux bow technique. This is now ready to adhere to the card base. Then, adhere the center piece with the popped up image and you are done!
Here is the finished card with the ribbon trimmed and everything adhered. Did you notice that I made all four of these samples from one package of Designer Series Paper. Just chose four monocromatic versions. There is, of course, a lot of paper left to make multiples of these cards.
Okay, I am back to finish showing you the projects made by my Technique Club members after the February Club Meeting. (Scroll down to see the first part of this post.) The first sample is by club member Robin. She made the cutest girls with pig tails! The faces are done by hand (the same as the bear faces in our original card). The girl's red hair and hands are also hand cut. My friends continue to amaze me. Thanks Robin for such a cute card.
Last, but certainly not least, is the project my friend Ann made. Do you recognize the Ornament Punch? She added corugated leaves (also done with the Ornament Punch) and some whispy branches. Absolutely georgeous! Like I said, I simply love what my friends create! The last picture shows the inside of her card. Fabulous!
Did you notice that she mastered the new Scallop Border Punch? The inside is just as beautiful as the outside. Thanks Ann for sharing such a awesome sample!
And thank you friends for stopping by. See you again soon.
Do you love Easter as much and our family does? In preparation for our celebration, I made this project for my grandchildren. I found the "Paint Can" at a local craft store and decorated them with our "Shades of Spring" Designer Series Paper. The tin is clear plastic and comes complete with a tool to open the top. My plan is to put the gifts for my "kids" in the tins. Then they can use it for our annual "Easter Egg Hunt". I know they will love this.
Here is my finished project. After using the Serif Essentials Die for the kid's names, I added flowers punched with our new Jumbo Flower Punch, Five Petal Flower Punch, Sm Flower Punch (Discontinued) and Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon (found in the Occasions MIni Catalog). This one is for one of my granddaughters. I also made green and blue versions for my grandsons. This was a fun project.
Call me if you have any questions. It does not take long to put together -- I like that!
The February Technique Club Meeting was so much fun. We did a Teddy Bear punch tutorial and threw in some silk flower dying for fun. I took a lot of liberty to call this a technique, but it was so cute and everyone loved it. The inspiration for this project came from a sample I saw on a fellow demonstrator's blog, Andrea W. The products used were:
Big Shot Scallop Die, Leaf Die, Silk Flowers and flat back pearls from the Pretties Kit, Stampin' Pastels (Chalks), probably every circle punch in our catalog (actually the 1/4", 1/2", 1" and 1 1/4"), also the Lg. Oval Punch and the Wide Oval Punch to make the bear, and a coordinating Designer Series Paper. The card stock is Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla and Pretty in Pink. Isn't this bear the cutest thing!
Here is the inside -- we always make a complete card.
The first "Homework" (Each club member is challenged to take what they have learned and create their own version) project was done by our friend, Carol A. She created an adorable punched Bumble Bee as part of her embellishments. Very well done and so cute. Thanks Carol for a great sample.
This is so much fun! That is all I have time for today, so come back on Wednesday for two more samples. Tomorrow I have a Tutorial for you.
HI Friends, The 2010 Technique Club met last Monday night, and our new member Carol A. offered this sample Stand UP card. We learned this Technique at the January Club Meeting. She turned it into a cute Birthday card and used a VersaMark Ink pad and a stamp to create a subtle background in place of using patterned paper. Great idea, Carol. Unfortunately, you probably cannot see that in the pictures. She used a Wheel to decorate the band and some star embellishments. When you open the card you will see more VersaMark stamping and her greeting. She topped it off by using the new Scallop Edge Punch she earned free in the Sale-A-Bration mini catalog. You still have time to get yours, contact me soon. Here are the samples:
If you want to make this card or any other project you see on this blog, simply contact me at kubotajudy@yahoo.com. Next week I will show you the February project and the samples made by the club members.
Do you remember that there are a list of free stamp sets you can earn at the back of the Sale-A-Bration mini catalog? I have been ordering some of those, and since one of my grandsons is playing on a Basketball team, I needed the "Just Basketball" stamp set for his scrapbook pages -- I received it free!!!
Here are two sample cards my daughter made with the stamp set. As the team mom she needed thank you cards for the coaches.
The first card uses Basic Grey card stock, Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad and Linen Thread as an accent. The second card is done with Whisper White, Basic Black and Real Red card stock. The background is done with Basic Black ink. This is a stamp if off technique to give a lighter image. To do this you ink your stamp, stamp it on a piece of scrap paper and then stamp it on your project.

I used the "Totally Tess" stamp set for this cute calendar. There are magnets on the back which allows you to hang this on your refrigerator or office file cabinet.
We are back with another monocromatic EASTER sample and we are again using the Eggcoutrements stamp set. I had so much fun with the Orchid one last week, I decided to try using the Certainly Celery Designer Paper from the Shades of Spring Designer Paper found in the Occasions Mini on page 25, Item No. 117160 at $9.95.
Step 1: Cut a piece of Certainly Celery at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", and score at 4 1/4". Fold in half and set aside. With a Certainly Celery Classic Stamp Pad stamp the "Easter" image on a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock and punch with the Designer Label Punch. Set these aside.
Step 2: Cut the Designer Paper at 4" x 5 1/4". Wrap a 6" piece of Certainly Celery 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon around the paper and adhere to the back with tape. Punch two circles out of a scrap of Certainly Celery card stock with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.
Step 3: Tuck the two Certainly Celery circles under the ribbon allowing about 3/4" to show above and below the ribbon and adhere. Use a mat and paper piercing tool to punch two holes through the ribbon and designer paper - then insert two silver brads.
Step 4: The last step is to adhere a dimensional behind the "Easter" embellishment and center over the ribbon and Certainly Celery circles. YOU ARE DONE! I find that when the background paper is this beautiful, you really do not need to add very much to your card. I am having so much fun with this I will show you another one again next week. Check back for that!
