SCRAPBOOKING RETREAT IN BIG BEAR

I do not know when I have had more fun!  My daughter, Dawn, and I spent a weekend in Big Bear at a Scrapbooking retreat.  We stayed at Apple's Bed and Breakfast (I highly recommend this facility if you want a great place to stay while you are in Big Bear).  They have two rooms that are booked every weekend for scrapbooking retreats.  Our group numbered approximately 16, so had the smaller of the two rooms.  Each person had their own 6' table, a shared kitchenette plus lots of fun with our friends.  We ate too much food!  It was awesome to be pampered that way.  I guess the highlight of the trip was staying an extra night -- yes, we were SNOWED IN!!!

I took this picture because it was so beautiful!  I guess you can understand why we stayed an extra night -- the cars were burried!

This is an annual event for this group of friends.  Dawn and I are already talking about what we could work on next year.

Haiti Relief Update and Information

Today is the last day to participate in Stampin′ Up!’s Haitian relief efforts! Thru February 28, 2010, Stampin′ Up! is setting aside $2 from the sale of the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set to be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. So far, demonstrators around the world have sold 11,895 sets, which equates to over $20,000 to be donated to this fund--but we don’t want to stop now! You still have today to participate in this effort and join other Stampin′ Up! customers and demonstrators in making a difference in lives of those who continue to suffer in Haiti.

A STAR IS BORN!

Well, actually five!!!  Five sixth grade girls attended last Friday Night's Valentine's Day class plus one mom!  They made the four projects we had planned, and I also furnished an additional treat for them.  They really loved the projects -- but they also loved the candy.  Go figure!!!  I took their picture and promised them that they would be stars on my blog, so here they are.

Coming up next month will be a class for Easter themed projects.  Kids love crafts as much as mom's do, so we might just hold that a mom and me class. See the March Newsletter for all the details.

Helping Out Haiti

Stampin' Up! is again raising money to help people in need!!  From now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set (pictured below), will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund.  This set comes in either clear mount or wood mount.

The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
