Hi Friends: I am pleased to offer you this beautiful collection of cards covering several occasions that come up during the year. I have designed these cards to be multi-purpose, meaning you will have a wide selection of greetings to use on them. I guess we could call this a "Design It Yourself" class. And, since this is a stack class you will make 12 cards total. I scheduled this for one day only -- a Sunday afternoon so that you have plenty of time to create them without feeling rushed. And hopefully you will be rested from your week. Okay, I know you want to see the samples:
You will enjoy sponging, embossing, dying flowers and hand cutting, of course. Bring you usual class kit of comfortable scissors and your favorite adhesives. I supply the rest!
DATE: Sunday, March 14 at 1:00pm (to 4:30ish) OR, Friday, March 19 at 6pm Note: We have added another session since our Newsletter was published due to the popularity of this class.
CLASS FEE: $25.00 for 12 cards - Three each of four designs. Please allow ample time to prepare the kits for you. Look forward to seeing you in class!
Today's Guest Artist is my friend, Ann R. (Technique Club Charter Member) She surprised us all with a Christmas Themed Stand Up Card. It made me think how beautiful it would be displayed on a coffee table during the holiday season. I am sure that was the intent of this style of card. They stand up perfectly -- no special tricks required.
Ann usedPretty in Pink, Real Red and Whisper White card stock, a retired Christmas themed Designer Series Paper out of which she cut the poinsettias. Yes, she hand cut them!!!. She also used the Big Shot Square Scallop and Lattice dies, and the Solumn Stillness stamp set (retired). Miscellaneous embellishments topped off this beautiful version of a "Stand Up Card.
Thanks for stopping by.
Check back again tomorrow for another beautiful sample.
We are back with our first Guest Artist from the 2010 Tecnnique Club. As you remember from yesterday's post, the Technique was a beautiful Stand Up Card. Our first Guest Artist is my friend Carol B (Charter Member). Take a look at her beautiful creation.
She used Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue and Old Olive card stock, a retired Designer Series Paper, Simply Adorned stamp set, Big Shot Square Scallop and Lattice Dies, Jumbo Bird punch, glitter (of course) and other miscellaneous embellishments.
Sale-a-Bration is half over and the excitement is still high. This years catalog has such a variety of products to earn as well as the chance to earn products from the regular catalog. I thought I would post a few samples for you to create with your new products. Enjoy!
I don't know about you, but I love all the cute things that can be made with our Build-A-Bear collection. I feel that there really is no age limit on the appeal -- so I have begun making various Build-A-Bear projects. The sample I am showing you today is a gift for the little ones. It is a coloring kit complete with eight 3" square cards -- four boy themed and four girl themed, eight envelopes and a package of eight crayons. The fun part is when the child colors the pictures inside and glues the completed art work to the card. He/She then writes a greeting inside the card, signs it and gives the cute little note card to a friend. I am sure you can imagine the smiles on their faces.
The supplies used are the Big Shot (machine), Big Shot Scallop Square, Barely Banana, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Ballet Blue and Whisper White card stock. Barely Banana 3/4" Grosgrain Ribbon. 3 1/2" square Whisper White envelopes, Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens. I found the Crayola Crayons at my local 99cent Store. Since this would make a great gift for pre-school and early elementary school children, I would be happy to make these to order. Price is $12.95 (local) plus $5.00 shipping if not local. Feel free to contact me at kubotajudy@yahoo.com for delivery time.
Can you believe it is time to start thinking about Valentine's Day!!! I feel like I just put away my holiday stamps. Well, I guess I had better get busy. So, I am a day late with your weekly tutorial -- A cute treat for Valentine's Day.
Supplies: Card Stock: Pink Passion and Whisper White. Stamp Set: Sweet Centers, Ribbon: Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain, Ink Pad: Pink Passion (Craft), Punch: 1 3/4" Circle, Craft Sticks, Sweet Treat Cups, Paper Snips and Adhesive. Oh yeah, CANDY! Your choice, of course.
The first picture shows the stamp set and is followed by the pieces needed to complete the project. The last photo is the completed project both front and back.
Directions: Stamp Heart on scrap Whisper White card stock (approx. 3 1/2 x 3 1/2") with a Craft Pink Passion Ink pad. Punch out the center with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch and set both pieces aside. Next cut the heart out with Paper Snips leaving a 1/4" border around the heart.
Sandwich a craft stick between two pieces of card stock, Pink Passion at 3 1/2" square and Whisper White at 3 1/4" square. Use liberal amounts of adhesive to make the craft stick secure. Fill a Sweet Treat cup with candy, remove the paper covering the adhesive on the back rim, lay punched heart over front to help align and determine placement on the Whisper White card stock (previously assembled with the craft stick). This is a little tricky to do without spilling the candy. Take your time and be patient. It does work. Next pick up the heart with the circle surrounding the Sweet Treat Cup (not yet adhered) and apply adhesive and place it on the project.
The last two steps are to glue the circle puncned out to the back of the project and to tie the 15" Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon onto the craft stick next to the Pink Passion card stock.
This project is really quick to do. You can make multiples of this in a short period of time. Please call with questions and/or orders for the supplies. As always, Happy Stamping.
Do you have trouble knowing where to keep your cards so you can find them when you need them? We have the answer! Let's kick off the New Year with a beautiful box to store and organize your greeting cards.
This project uses the "Sunny Day" Simply Scrappin' Kit (You know how much I love our Simply Scrappin' Kits, lol), -- they are all beautiful and are such a good deal!). The class fee includes the box, dividers and embelishments.

For the first time in my life my efforts to decorate our home for the Christmas Holidays has been very minimal. No, it is not because I have lost interest, it is simply the time spent to attend our Granddaughter's wedding the week before Christmas.
On a bright note, my daughter's surprised me with a "real wreath". I was so surprised. What a thoughtful gift. I gave it a prominent spot in the entry hall --it is the first thing people see when they walk in. The more I looked at it, the more I realized I could incorproate a Decor Element with it. I received the "Jingle all the Way" Decor Element free during one of Stampin'Up!'s specials.
Here is a close up view of the Decor Element. I have to tell you that it was very easy to apply. Step one is to turn the image over to reveal the back side, use the burnishing tool to rub gently so that the element adheres firmly to the sticky side. Next you slowly remove the backing beginning at a corner and working at an angle. If any piece did not stick you burnish it some more until it is adhered. The final step is to place it where you want it and burnish again to transfer the image to your wall. Slowly remove the sticky backing starting at an angle from a corner. I was amazed at how quick and easy it was.
When the holidays are over I will remove it. I will let you know if that is just a easy. This message is reaching you while I am attending our Granddaughter's wedding. Enjoy your Holidays!
Do you have your Christmas Party Favors ready? If not, here is a quick box you can make by hand -- no Big Shot required. Select your color scheme and begin by cutting a piece of card stock at 5" x 5 3/4". Score all four sides at 3/4" and 1 1/2". Fold up your sides and trim the corners as shown.
Next fold up the box and use Sticky Strip to secure it.
Now you are ready to cut your choice of Designer Series Paper at 2 3/4" by 6 5/8". Score this piece at 7/8", 2 15/16", 3 3/4" and 5 13/16". If you want a window, use the Big Shot Curly Label Die, or a punch. I used the Curly Label Die in the sample with a 2" square piece of window sheet adhered to the inside. Fold DSP on score lines, adhere cut ends together and slide over your box.
The sample shows Ghirardelli Chocolates -- I have not had time to run
out to get some red and green MandM's. I think they would be better.
What do you think? Add a ribbon and you have it!
Are you among the thousands that travel to celebrate Thanksgiving? Even if your celebration was local, you probably need a "Thanks for your Hospitality" card.
This is a quick card to make. It uses Water Color Pencils and Blender Pens, Whisper White, Barely Banana and Bashful Blue card stock, the small and large Tag Punch, Ticket Corner Punch and a short piece of Brilliant Blue 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. The image is a discontinued stamp, however, it can be replaced with the Neighborhood Jumbo Wheel found on page 84 ($8.50) of the 2009/2010 Idea Book and Catalog. Also on that page is the "All in the Family" stamp set. Add some people to the card! Kick it up a notch! I used white for the card base so that it is easy to write your thank you note inside without an additional piece of card stock.
