DECOR ELEMENT SAMPLE

Hi Friends:  Do you recall toward the end of last year when Stampin'Up! gave away some Decor Elements as a bonus for specific purchases?  Well, I took advantage of the bonus and selected a few sports Decors to give to one of my grandsons.  He spent the 4th of July weekend with us -- so we worked together on these pictures for  his room. 

We used Tempting Turquoise as the background and a couple inexpensive frames.  It was fun working with him and showing him how the transfers work.  It was surprising to both of us how quick they were.  We decided to frame them rather than putting them directly onto the wall.  This way when he is done with them he can give them to his brother or just toss them.  The first picture shows the two pictures we made, and the following pictures are Patrick clowning around.

Do you remember that there are a list of free stamp sets you can earn at the back of the Sale-A-Bration mini catalog?  I have been ordering some of those, and since one of my grandsons is playing on a Basketball team, I needed the "Just Basketball" stamp set for his scrapbook pages -- I received it free!!!

Here are two sample cards my daughter made with the stamp set.  As the team mom she needed thank you cards for the coaches. 

The first card uses Basic Grey card stock, Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad and Linen Thread as an accent.  The second card is done with Whisper White, Basic Black and Real Red card stock.  The background is done with Basic Black ink.  This is a stamp if off technique to give a lighter image.  To do this you ink your stamp, stamp it on a piece of scrap paper and then stamp it on your project.

CIRCLE SCISSOR PLUS UPDATE

I was forced to learn how to use our new circle cutter.  After two days of frustration i learned that the rubber feet that hold the cutter in place are not adequate.  My husband added the slip free product we use in kitchens under cutting boards, etc. and that solved the problem.  Now the cutter does not slip and you get perfect circles every time.  I also fingured out that when you remove the blade you can see through the chamber which allows you to see where it will cut.  This allows you to line everything up quickly and easily and saves a lot of paper.

This baseball is for the Little League Opening Ceremonies on Saturday morning.  My grandson's team, the Reds, asked to borrow our red pickup truck.  My daughter (Dawn) and i made one for each team member and the coaches and team mom.  They will decorate the truck along with these and with other things made by the team mom. 

This is a 6" circle which is the largest you get with the new cutter.  If you ever need help with your projects, simply give me a call. 

 

We used half of one of the circles for a template to draw in the stitching line, stamped the names and chalked it to make it look more real.  Unfortunately I took this picture before we were done.  We added the team name and year.  What fun!
